Overview

Ridge is a workout tracking app designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the data necessary to provide you with a great workout tracking experience. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

Data we collect

Workout data

When you use Ridge, we store your workout data including exercises, sets, reps, weights, workout duration, and personal records. This data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and optionally synced to iCloud if you sign in with Apple.

Apple Health data

With your permission, Ridge reads sleep duration, heart rate variability (HRV), and resting heart rate from Apple Health to provide health-aware workout recommendations. We also write completed workouts to Apple Health. This data is never sent to our servers and remains on your device or in your iCloud account.

Account information

If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user ID and optionally your name and email address (which Apple may relay through a private email address). This information is used solely for account identification and is stored securely in your device's Keychain.

AI coaching data

If you use the AI Coach feature (premium), your workout summary (exercises, sets completed, workout rating, and sleep duration if available) is sent to OpenAI to generate personalized feedback. We do not send your name, email, or any personally identifiable information to OpenAI. The workout context is used only for generating your feedback and is not stored by OpenAI for training purposes.

Data storage

All your workout data is stored locally on your device. If you sign in with Apple, your data may be synced to your personal iCloud account for backup and cross-device access. We do not operate servers that store your workout data. Your data belongs to you.

Third-party services

OpenAI

The AI Coach feature uses OpenAI's API to generate workout feedback. Only anonymized workout summaries are sent to OpenAI. See OpenAI's privacy policy for more information.

Apple

We use Sign in with Apple for authentication and iCloud for optional data sync. See Apple's privacy policy for more information.

Fathom Analytics

Our website uses Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. See Fathom's privacy policy for more information.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data: All your data is stored on your device and accessible within the app.
  • Delete your data: You can delete individual workouts or all your data by uninstalling the app.
  • Export your data: Workout history is accessible in the app and synced to Apple Health if you enable that feature.
  • Revoke permissions: You can disable Apple Health access or sign out of your account at any time in the app settings.

Children's privacy

Ridge is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
